The general conclusion from the experts is that the six cranes have recovered well after the long journey and are now ready to be transferred to Tram Chim National Park as planned on April 19, 2025.

The six cranes arrived at Saigon Zoo on the night of April 10 after a 16-hour journey by road and air, enduring hot and humid weather without food or water. However, all six individuals remained safe, with no injuries, not even minor scratches, and showed no signs of exhaustion.

By the morning of April 13, observations confirmed that the six cranes were eating, drinking, and moving normally. Their food intake increased daily. In addition to mixed feed, they were also given small fish and superworms.

This marks the first time cranes have been transported over such a long duration under challenging weather conditions with such successful results. This achievement is attributed to the meticulous and careful preparation by Thai, Vietnamese, and International Crane Foundation experts, as well as the strong commitment of Dong Thap Province authorities in restoring, conserving, and developing the Sarus Crane population
