Communication

To enhance the awareness and understanding of the public and organizations, both domestic and international, about the Sarus crane restoration program at Tram Chim and to mobilize suppCapacity Building:

Sarus crane

  • Provide communication and marketing training for staff in charge of the crane restoration program.
  • Invite communication experts to organize training courses at Tram Chim for Project staff.
  • Send Tram Chim staff to participate in communication skills training programs.

Promotion and Fundraising:

  • Develop promotional programs to attract contributions from society and the private sector.
  • Design and implement promotional programs on mass media (press, radio, television) and social networks.
  • Design and distribute communication materials about the crane breeding and release program (leaflets, posters, other publications).
  • Organize seminars and conferences.

Community Education:

  • Develop community-focused environmental education programs to encourage the participation of local people in protecting cranes when they live outside the surrounding areas.
  • Organize extracurricular educational programs at schools in the surrounding areas on topics related to the Crane Conservation Project.
  • Coordinate with district and commune authorities to integrate crane conservation content into local state policy dissemination activities.
  • Organize annual bird festivals. The annual bird festival is a comprehensive program that includes environmental education, community tourism promotion, and the introduction of organic agricultural products.
  • Based on the results of monitoring crane habitats outside the surrounding areas, focus on encouraging households with land where cranes live to apply measures to protect the crane population.

Community-Based Ecotourism and Sustainable Livelihoods:

  • Develop and promote models to improve the income of local people in conjunction with the crane conservation program.
  • Develop and pilot models to create livelihoods for local people in combination with the Crane Project at Tràm Chim.
  • Community-based ecotourism combined with ecological agricultural production programs in surrounding areas.
  • Encourage businesses currently operating in Tram Chim National Park to create conditions for local people, especially households contributing to the Crane Project, to participate in production and business activities.
